Anyway, over in Majorca around 1550, a local toughie pirate was beaten by villages led by one Joan Mas. Best events in Spain.
That's a good excuse for a party, not that the Spanish need an excuse. The People of Pollenca call this fiesta,

The Requena Wine Harvest Festival

August to September
The Wine Harvest Festival of Requena is added to what was the old Fair, of mediaeval origin.
The Wine Harvest Festival stems from the old festivities in which the entrance of the autumn and the time of the grape harvest were celebrated. This festival was born of these simple festivities and it serves as a promotion of the excellent wines of the land. It was 1948 when seven people decided to try to unite their fellow citizens in the difficult post-war years through this festival. Without a doubt those men were ignorant of the fact that their initiative gave birth to the first wine harvest festival in Spain, declared a Festival of Tourist Interest in 1964.

Fire, song and prayers to the Saint
Every year, on 27 September, the feast of Santo Toribio de Mogroviejo is celebrated in Mayorga. It commemorates the arrival of the Saint’s relics to his birthplace. There is a procession called El Vítor, where residents of the village walk with flaming torches made out of grape skins, from the Saint’s house to the shrine. During the procession there are singing and fireworks, and the celebration finally ends up in the village’s local associations Santo Toribio de Mogroviejo was a missionary in Latin America. The tradition of the El Vítor procession dates back to the 18th century, when village residents took to the streets with torches to celebrate the arrival of the Saint’s relics. 4, 5, 6 August 2017
 Lerma, Burgos
Lerma fiesta website
"In 1617, four hundred years ago, the birth of this unique and monumental city was celebrated. The Santísimo was transferred to the Collegiate Church of San Pedro and its monasteries, the Ducal Palace, the great baroque plaza and the park were inaugurated. To celebrate, we organized the most spectacular and lasting Baroque parties of all we know in Europe. There were twenty-two uninterrupted days of celebration, from October 3 to 25. In them collaborated poets like Góngora, playwrights like Luis Vélez de Guevara, Mira de Amescua or Lope de Vega. In the construction of ephemeral architectures Gómez de Mora intervened and in the cartels and paintings Sánchez Coello. The theater performances included the participation of the company Pinedo or actors as renowned as Baltasar Osorio or Mari Flores." quoted from the website-there is so much more.

Cigales, Fiesta de la Vendimia
Towards the end of September or beginning of October
Pisada en la Fiesta de la Vendimia, Cigales With the arrival of the grape harvest, towards the end of September or beginning of October, the town of Cigales (Valladolid) celebrates its Fiesta de la Vendimia (Wine Harvest Festival), an event which reunites all the bodegas and the 12 councils that belong to the Denominación de Origen Cigales.
The treading of the grape and tasting of the first pressing, which takes place over the weekend, is the most important part of the festival and the day when most tourists and other visitors attend. This is a day of wine tasting, with folklore groups and popular dancing as entertainment.
Actuación en la Plaza Mayor de Cigales
In addition to this, there is the Desfile de las bodegueras (Parade of Wine Producers), 12 youngsters representing the various towns of the D.O., one of which is elected as the best wine maker. After crossing the town and arriving at the Plaza de Lujano, an award ceremony takes place.
During the whole afternoon, the fiesta continues with music and a popular night party in the square dominated by the Iglesia de Santiago Apóstol.
The fiesta is rounded off by activities, such as the traditional tourist cycle ride which travels about 80 km through all the towns of the Cigales wine route. A wine tasting course, organised by the local wine board, is another of the activities forming the Fiesta de la Vendimia de Cigales, and provides a useful opportunity for participants to learn all about Spanish Denominaciones de Origen (Designations of Origin).

Around Bernardos are quiet and pleasant paths that can be done by bike or on foot. Of particular note are the sites on the banks of the river Eresma , which runs for several miles along which are remnants of old mills, such as Remondo, small riverside forests with poplars and poplars, and bridges that cross the river. Ebjoy the pine forest.

Bernardos features a 16th century church of classic style and the image of the patron saint, San Pedro; The Hermitage of the Humilladero, built in the sixteenth century; The hermitage of Santa Inés  a small Romanesque church ; The hill of El Castillo which, with its late Roman ruins, cataloged as BIC (2006) , and the hermitage of the Virgin of the Castle, the watchtower gives spectacular view of the region. Also we are in the proximity of archeological centres of special interest like the paleolithic engravings of Domingo Garci'a, or the hill of Tormejón in Armuña.

Almonte Festival of the little Rocío

On the 18th and 19th of August, in the village of Rocío, Rocío Chico is celebrated. This tradition has its origin in a vow of thanksgiving that the people of Almonte did in 1813 after having been freed of the attack of the French troops. The voting record is dated August 16, 1813, the year from which this party of more local character has been celebrated.

During the days 16, 17 and 18, a preparatory triduum takes place that organizes the Brotherhood Matrix. At twelve o'clock on the night of August 18, a Rosary leaves through the streets of the village, which ends with the entrance of the simpecado of Almonte in the sanctuary.

On the 19th morning, the Almonteños fulfilled the promise of this vote.

The walk is lit by torches and goes from the village of Caboalles de Arriba to the Santuario de la Virgen (sanctuary of the Virgin) in Carrasconte, which belongs to the Council of Villablino but is close to the village of Villaseca de Laciana.
A crowd of children carries torches and crowns of flowers, and are trailed by a line of cars to the hermitage, where they make their offerings.
Outside traditional garlic soup is prepared for the guests, from which each person takes their clay dish and wooden spoon away with them as a souvenir. There are celebrations with pipers, regional costume, stalls of trinkets and of cider.
During the following day, 15th August, mass is held almost once an hour.
