Javea / Xàbia
Xàbia has four main areas of interest to the tourist. The historic old town with its densely packed narrow streets, fascinating ancient buildings, shops, cafè's, bars and restaurants. The port area, busy little harbour, café's, Bars, shops & restaurants, watch the fishing boats return every afternoon then see their catch on display half an hour later on the market stalls. How many of the creatures & fish on display can you identify. Watch the local housewives and restaurant owners bartering over items. Moving south from the port is a long rocky foreshore, a wonderful place to sit and relax. During the summer wooden cabin- bars spring up selling light tapas and refreshments. Beautiful! and very popular in the evening as the sun goes down. Children love these rocky outcrops for catching crabs. This foreshore ends with the local Paradore hotel
The Paradore is on a headland, around the corner is a small bay which is the main arenal and beach area with clean golden sand. The beach is lined by a promenade with bars, café's, restaurants, shops and late niteclubs. This is one of the main promenades for the Spanish families to stroll on public holidays. Sitting in one the bars is a great people watching area. The area is also popular for those amazing sand sculptures. Around the headland again is a long rocky foreshore. The coast continues with ever steeper cliffs.
