' Sálon de Contratación' or (exchabnge) is 118 feet long (5. 48 metres). The patio of 'Los Naranjos' is decorated in exuberant style.
They call it the jewel of Gothic architecture in Europe.
Built in the fifteenth century, the Market is the quintessential gothic monument of Valencia.
La Lonja was built mostly between 1482 and 1492, under the direction of master mason Pedro Compte. The culmination of the work by one of his disciples after his death, explains the presence of Renaissance elements. La Lonja de la Seda has been considered one of the most beautiful buildings of European civil Gothic architecture. Its similarity to the old medieval castle is based on the iron fortress-like appearance of its stone walls. It consists of four parts: the Tower, the Board of the Consulate of the Sea, the Patio de los Naranjos and the Hall of Columns. The extension of the group exceeds 2,000 square meters in built up areas and undeveloped land. On Sunday there are displays of coins and stamps.
