Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum. Madrid

For several generations, the Thyssen-Bornemisza family gathered together an art collection that today are exhibited in this museum. They purchased the Villahermosa Palace, a building from the early 19th century and it was remodelled and renovated by the architect Rafael Moneo the for this very purpose.
Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum. Madrid contains famous paintings dating from the 14th century up to the masterly pop art of the 20th century.
The collection put together by the Thyssen-Bornemisza family is a wonderful place for a journey through the different "Isms" of art, starting with Impressionism.
A new building with 18 rooms, which houses the Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection, has recently been added to the museum. Two of these rooms are used for temporary exhibits
