Arc Raiders Expeditions Delayed Until Early 2027 Amid Community Feedback
Embark Studios has announced a significant delay for all future Arc Raiders Expeditions, pushing the return of the popular endgame mechanic to early 2027. The developer cited extensive community feedback as the primary reason for the postponement, stating that existing issues with departure windows, reward structures, and accessibility require ‘bigger changes’ than incremental fixes.
Expedition 5 Launch and Subsequent Pause
Expedition 5 will launch on September 8th and conclude on September 29th, marking a temporary halt to the Expeditions cycle. Embark emphasized that this pause is necessary to implement substantial improvements addressing player concerns. They encourage players to participate in Expedition 5 now, noting that more details regarding these changes will be revealed in September.

Expeditions: A Key Player Driver
Expeditions are a crucial element of Arc Raiders, allowing players to effectively ‘reset’ their Raiders and progress through the skill trees. This prestige system has been a consistent driver of player engagement since the game’s October 2025 launch. Without Expeditions, players are limited to the level cap, necessitating a wait for progression.
Trials Also Temporarily Suspended
Adding to the news, Embark Studios has also paused its weekly Trials starting September 22, 2026, for a two-week period until October 8. Despite maintaining a consistent player base since its initial surge in popularity, Arc Raiders’ post-launch development has faced criticism regarding the frequency of updates. Previous updates, such as the Riven Tides map released in April, have been perceived as insufficient by some players.
Addressing Player Concerns
Embark acknowledged these concerns, committing to two major updates per year, with the next, Frozen Trail, currently scheduled for release in October. Despite the promise of a ‘biggest update yet’ featuring a new map, many players have expressed frustration with the perceived lack of consistent content. Players who have completed all Expeditions will receive the Zenith outfit, while partially completed Caravans will be replaced with Ermal Vouchers. Consecutive buffs will persist during the Expeditions pause.
