Amazon takes control of future james bond games

amazon has firmly established its grip on the James Bond franchise, confirming that future installments will be published under its own banner, Amazon Game Studios. In a recent interview with Polygon, Jeff Gattis, General Manager of Gaming at Amazon, revealed that the tech giant now holds full creative control over Bond, a privilege it acquired following its 2021 purchase of MGM and subsequent 2025 takeover.

According to Gattis, IO Interactive, the developer behind the critically acclaimed 007 First Light, will continue to craft future Bond titles, but with Amazon's financial backing and creative input. The change in publishing dynamics is a result of Amazon's expanding gaming division, which aims to create synergy between its films, TV shows, and video games.

Gattis emphasized that this new collaborative model will enable Amazon to create more interconnected IP across its platforms, citing the upcoming Tomb Raider TV series on Prime Video as an example.
