Cambridge Audio has quietly upgraded its acclaimed CX series, delivering a feature long-requested by audiophiles: HDMI eARC connectivity on the new CXN100 SE network streamer. While retaining the core architecture and sonic performance that made the original CXN100 a favorite, this addition dramatically expands the streamer’s utility in modern home Entertainment setups.

The ESS ES9028Q2M SABRE32 DAC, capable of handling up to 32-bit/768kHz and DSD512, remains the reference point for digital audio conversion.
Beyond the headline feature, the CXN100 SE maintains a generous selection of inputs—USB, coaxial, and TOSLINK—making it a practical upgrade for those with older CD players or transport systems. The device effectively becomes a superior DAC, simplifying your system and breathing new life into legacy equipment. The familiar 4.76-inch high-resolution color display is still present, showcasing album art, playback information, and selectable VU meters for an engaging user experience. Priced at €1049 for the CXN100 SE (available in Lunar Grey in June and Black in April), €1199 for the CXA81 Mk II, and €599 for the CXC, the CX Black series represents a subtle yet appealing addition to Cambridge Audio’s lineup.
