Update 1.01.00 brings significant changes

Released just two weeks after its initial launch, update 1.01.00 has made a big impact, addressing several key criticisms and improving the overall gameplay experience.

Among the most notable additions are five new summonable mounts, which players were eagerly awaiting. These mounts can be called upon to provide assistance in combat and exploration, greatly enhancing the game's mobility and strategy.

Other significant tweaks include reduced loading times for fast travel and revivals, making the game's vast open world feel even more seamless to navigate. Controls have also been refined for a more responsive and intuitive experience.

But the patch notes reveal a multitude of additional improvements, from UI enhancements to bug fixes. Locked doors now display an interaction button, allowing players to choose whether to use a key to open them. The Blinding Flash Finisher, previously prone to launching characters far from cliffs, has been corrected. And a host of other in-game issues have been addressed.

This flurry of updates has not gone unnoticed by players, with Crimson Desert's Steam user review rating shifting from 'mixed' to 'very positive' in a remarkably short time. As a result, the game's concurrent player count has peaked at 276,261, placing it third on Steam's most-played list behind Valve's own titles Dota 2 and Counter-Strike 2.

While console player numbers remain private, Pearl Abyss CEO Heo Jin-young recently revealed that Crimson Desert is on track to sell 5 million copies, having already surpassed 3 million this week alone. The game's aggressive development and post-launch support strategy appear to be paying off in a big way.
