Disney and Netflix Partner on Content Deal, Bringing Disney+ Titles to Netflix
In a new agreement, Disney will license a range of its content to Netflix, including popular titles like Ice Age, Percy Jackson, and select TV series. The non-exclusive deal aims to boost interest in contemporary Disney shows like Percy Jackson and the Olympians, which premieres on Netflix on October 4 before its Disney+ Season 3 debut on November 20. All five Ice Age movies will also be available on Netflix at the same time.

Additional titles heading to Netflix include Will Trent Seasons 1-4, Shifting Gears Seasons 1-2, and Tracker Seasons 1-3, arriving between November 2023 and February 2027. In 2027, a selection of Walt Disney Animation and Pixar movies, such as Soul, Elio, and Raya and the Last Dragon, as well as complete series like Felicity, This is Us, Revenge, and Fresh off the Boat, will also be added to Netflix, with release dates varying by region.
The deal is seen as mutually beneficial, providing Netflix with more content and Disney with increased exposure for its offerings beyond its flagship franchises like Marvel and Star Wars, which will remain exclusive to Disney+. Netflix will continue to invest in its own original content, including series and animations like Arcane, The Witcher, and Castlevania.
This partnership comes as both streaming giants prepare for new content drops in October, with Netflix featuring East of Eden, Animals, and Below, while Disney+ offers Marvel's VisionQuest, Barbarian, and American Horror Story: 13. The merger of Disney+ and Hulu's libraries has expanded the choice of content for subscribers. However, Disney+ has increased its pricing ahead of the next Marvel release, a move some may find "a bit of a Thor point."
