Disney+ lands animorphs tv show from proximity media

Proximity Media, the production company behind Ryan Coogler's hit series Sinners, is set to adapt the popular 90s book series Animorphs for Disney+. Variety reports that Coogler, along with Proximity co-founders Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian, will serve as executive producers on the project.

Bayan wolcott pens the script

Wolcott, known for her work on The Testaments and The Summer I Turned Pretty, is attached as a writer and also holds an executive producer credit. Original publisher Scholastic's Iole Lucchese and Caitlin Friedman will join the team as executive producers as well.

Animorphs, created by Katherine Applegate and Michael Grant, follows a group of teenagers who uncover a hidden threat in their everyday lives while navigating high school drama. A logline for the series teases that it will largely follow the source material, stating
