Fede Álvarez Confirms ‘Don’t Breathe 3’ is in Development
Filmmaker Fede Álvarez has confirmed that ‘Don’t Breathe 3’ is currently in development, with several key cast members from the previous installments expected to return. Álvarez’s announcement came during Beyond Fest 2026, as reported by Dread Central.
Returning Cast Likely
Stephen Lang (Avatar) and Jane Levy (Evil Dead), who portray The Blind Man/Norman Nordstrom and Rocky, respectively, are anticipated to reprise their roles. Álvarez and Levy previously collaborated on the 2013 ‘Evil Dead’ reboot and the original ‘Don’t Breathe’ in 2016.

‘Don’t Breathe’ Storyline
The horror-thriller franchise follows three thieves who break into a seemingly abandoned house, only to find themselves trapped in a deadly game of cat and mouse with The Blind Man. ‘Don’t Breathe 2,’ released in 2021, continued the story with Lang back as The Blind Man, directed by Rodo Sayagues with Sam Raimi returning as producer.
Future of the Trilogy
Despite previous hints from Lang about a potential third film, updates on ‘Don’t Breathe 3’ have been scarce. Álvarez’s recent focus on directing ‘Alien: Romulus’ appears to have shifted his attention back to completing the ‘Don’t Breathe’ trilogy. The specifics of the plot and release date remain unknown at this time.
