Fortnite's april fools' day update brings chaos, disney boss sees acquisition opportunity

Epic Games kicked off April Fools' Day with an extravagant Fortnite update packed with never-before-seen features and a dash of humor.

Temporary patch includes giant heads, gun fingers, and more

Players can now mount other characters piggyback style, with the potential to stack an infinite number of players, while roaming llamas have appeared across the map that can be ridden. The update also grants invulnerability to fall damage and reduces body shot damage.

In addition to the whimsical additions, Epic made some under-the-radar balance tweaks, including equalizing weapon reload speeds across all rarity levels and making legendary item damage mythic-tier equivalent. Mobile users also got a few quality-of-life enhancements.

However, the fun won't last long - this April Fools' Day patch is only available for 24 hours, and once the clock strikes midnight, these novelty features will vanish.

But for now, no official announcements have been made, and the developers remain focused on extending the battle royale's lifespan.
