Although the channel only launched a year ago, Mediapro appears to be planning a shift in strategy, with Gol Classics set to become a paid offering on its new platform, Goltelevisión.com.

This move has left many users of Orange TV and Samsung TV Plus who enjoyed the channel's retro football content feeling disappointed and left in the lurch.

Orange TV customers had been able to access Gol Classics on dial 138 since December, while Samsung TV Plus viewers found it on dial 4640 since its launch in March 2025.

Gol Classics was unique in offering classic Spanish football matches, attracting a niche but dedicated audience.

While Orange TV may still consider striking a deal with Mediapro to bring the channel back, for now, fans are left searching for alternative ways to satisfy their football cravings.
