Io interactive confirms more hitman games on the horizon

IO Interactive has reassured fans that Agent 47's next adventure is still in the works, with CEO Hakan Abrak expressing excitement to revisit the Hitman franchise after focusing on James Bond.

Although IOI has successfully explored other genres like Bond and fantasy, Hitman remains the Danish studio's bread and butter. With 13 games released over 26 years, more than half of IOI's output belongs to the stealth assassination series.

Abrak acknowledged that it's been five years since the last mainline Hitman title, but emphasized that this drought wasn't due to neglecting the franchise. Instead, the team has been pouring resources into developing two brand new IPs from the ground up, including the very different 007 First Light and an unnamed fantasy game.
