Kathryn hahn confirmed as mother gothel in disney's tangled live-action remake

disney has officially confirmed Kathryn Hahn as Mother Gothel for its upcoming live-action remake of Tangled, following a social media tease from the actress. Hahn, known for her scene-stealing roles in WandaVision and Agatha All Along, has long been fan-cast as the iconic villain. Mother Gothel's casting was expected soon after news emerged of the film's lead roles for Rapunzel and Flynn Rider.

Teagan Croft (Titans) and Milo Manheim (Zombies) will take on the roles of Rapunzel and Flynn Rider respectively in disney's Tangled live-action. Development on the project was first reported in December 2024, with the original animated film garnering positive reviews and box office success in 2010.

disney's Tangled remake is part of a broader slate of live-action remakes, including Peter Pan spin-off centered on Tinker Bell, Hercules, Bambi, Lilo & Stitch sequel, and a Beauty and the Beast spin-off starring Gaston. Before these, the live-action Moana remake is set to launch in July.
