Lucy Davis Announces Terminal Cancer Diagnosis

British actress Lucy Davis, known for her roles in The Office, Wonder Woman (2017), and Shaun of the Dead, has revealed she’s been diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Stage Four Breast Cancer Diagnosis

Davis announced the news on August 11, 2026, via Instagram, stating she was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer in early 2025. The cancer has spread to her bones, metastasizing to her spine, right hip, and ribs.

“Don’t Ignore Anything”

“The cancer is incurable, and too late for chemo,” she wrote. “The initial lump that I felt wasn't a ‘lump’ as such; rather, a kind of hard spot. Really tiny. I almost didn’t bother getting it checked. So I guess I’m saying don’t ignore anything — get everything checked out.”

Focus on Humor and Family

Davis confirmed she is “trying to live out whatever might be left” of her life in “as fun a way” as she can. She emphasized the importance of humor, encouraging friends and family to playfully tease her and not treat her as a sick person. “I’m not scared of whatever comes next. I’m at peace with it. I’ll see my Gracie sooner than expected, and for me, leaving my physical body just means going home. Any and all grieving is for my family; it’s far harder for them than for me.”

Continuing Work and Wishes for Others

Davis plans to continue her work in animal rights, though she acknowledges standing or walking for extended periods can be painful, necessitating the use of a wheelchair. “For those of you on a similar journey to mine, I do wish you well.
