The update's most eye-catching addition is undoubtedly the return of Bomb-omb Blast, a battle mode previously seen in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. In this high-octane mode, the aim is to damage opponents and survive until the last player standing, now armed with the explosive power of bombs.

Beyond the bombshell addition, Nintendo has made a series of subtle yet impactful changes to the Mario Kart World meta. Recovery time after crashing or spinning out now varies between characters, with lighter racers enjoying a shorter invincibility period compared to their heavier counterparts.

The bullet bill item has also received a boost, with increased speed on certain sections of courses like Bowser's Castle, Starview Peak, and Rainbow Road. Conversely, the boomerang has been nerfed, with reduced range and consecutive throws allowed.

Other minor changes include adjusted item probabilities from boxes and tweaked behavior for certain obstacles and allies. The patch notes also mention dozens of smaller bug fixes to improve the overall gaming experience.
