Mehcad brooks opens up about his struggle with mortal kombat fight scenes

Actor Mehcad Brooks, known for his portrayal of Jax in the Mortal Kombat franchise, revealed his internal battle with the intense fight scenes in the first movie during a virtual press conference ahead of the sequel's release.

Brooks sat with his therapist for six sessions to deeply understand the character of Major Jackson 'Jax' Briggs, a cybernetically-enhanced Special Forces officer known for his signature metal bionic arms.

However, Brooks confessed that he initially felt out of his element during the film's fight scenes, particularly when facing off against actor Joe Taslim, who played Sub-Zero. Taslim, a martial arts expert, starred in films like The Raid and Fast & Furious 6.
