Murder mystery series 'si es martes, es asesinato' confirms second season on disney+

Thriller fans no longer need fear investing hours into a gripping new series only to have it abruptly canceled mid-storyline. Disney+ has just landed its latest major original release, 'Si es martes, es asesinato', a captivating whodunit that's already scored a confirmed second season.

This Spanish-language mystery follows a diverse group of tourists on a trip to Lisbon, where a decrepit hotel and hidden secrets set the stage for a holiday gone horribly wrong. When one of their fellow travelers is found dead on the very first day, four amateur sleuths - all fans of detective fiction - decide to take matters into their own hands and investigate the murder.

As they delve deeper into the mystery, our intrepid quartet must navigate the local police, a multitude of suspects, the threat of expulsion from the trip, and their own dark secrets, all while racing against the clock to unravel the truth before they have to leave Lisbon.

Each episode is a self-contained chapter in the larger narrative, offering a chance to explore some of Lisbon's most picturesque locales. The entire series was shot on location in the Portuguese capital, providing a stunning backdrop for the suspense.

Leading the ensemble cast are Álex García, Inma Cuesta, Ana Wagener, and Biel Montoro, with additional talent from both Spanish and Portuguese actors. The show is the creation of Carlos Vila (Los misterios de Laura) and is directed by Salvador Calvo (Adú, 1898. Los últimos de Filipinas), with Abigail Schaaff (El Ministerio del Tiempo) also on board as a director.

After premiering at the 29th Málaga Film Festival, 'Si es martes, es asesinato' is now exclusively available on Disney+, with all episodes of the first season ready to binge.
