one piece fans rejoice: third season confirmed with major casting news

Netflix has finally confirmed the eagerly anticipated third season of its hit anime adaptation One Piece, along with some major casting additions that will excite fans worldwide.

New characters join the crew

Heading the list of new recruits is Xolo Maridueña, best known for his role as Miguel Diaz in Cobra Kai, who will bring Portgas D. Ace to life. This casting news has been a fan favorite for some time, given the actor's uncanny resemblance to the late Iñaki Godoy, who previously voiced the character.

In addition to Maridueña, the third season will also feature Cole Escola as Bon Clay, Awoduo Awoduo as Mr. 1, and Daisy Head as Miss Doublefinger.

But that's not all - the new season will also see some fan-favorite characters promoted to main roles. These include Mikaela Hoover as Chopper, Joe Manganiello as Mr. 0, Lera Abova as Miss All Sunday, and Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefertari Cobra.

And of course, the entire main cast is set to return, with Taz Skylar's La Revuelta performance generating buzz among fans.

Netflix has reportedly learned its lesson about fan anticipation, with production on the third season kicking off on November 24, 2025. This accelerated timeline aims to deliver the new episodes much sooner than the wait for season two.

According to sources, the goal is to premiere the third season by the end of 2027 or early 2028, allowing the show to maintain its momentum and capitalizing on the actors' availability during this period of their careers.
