Osamu tezuka, manga icon, gets documentary treatment

Osamu Tezuka, the legendary creator of Astro Boy, Buddha, and Kimba the White Lion, is getting the documentary treatment with TEZUKA! God of Manga.

Jason andrew cohn directs the feature-length film, tracing tezuka's post-war life, career, and lasting impact on the entertainment world.

Featuring interviews with manga artists, animators, scholars, and filmmakers like Katsuhiro Otomo, Riyoko Ikeda, Naoki Urasawa, Go Nagai, Toshiyuki Tomino, and more, TEZUKA! God of Manga promises to celebrate Tezuka as a prolific and enigmatic creator who forever altered popular culture.

Funded through Kickstarter, the documentary aims to introduce Tezuka's incredible creations to a new generation and show how his work influenced artists worldwide.
