Pearl Abyss has revealed strong sales figures for its action RPG, Crimson Desert, exceeding 6 million copies sold within three months of launch. The game generated approximately KRW 266.5 billion (around $178.8 million) in its initial two weeks, with over 80% of sales originating from North America and Europe.

Second Quarter Results and Revenue Softening

During its second quarter (April-June 2026) results, Pearl Abyss reported a slight softening in Crimson Desert revenue compared to the previous quarter, as the company prioritized content optimization over major expansions. Approximately 2.11 million copies were sold during this period, with digital sales accounting for 1.72 million (82%) and physical sales at 0.39 million (18%).

Pearl Abyss is currently developing DLC, slated for release “this year,” focusing on refining content and quality. Players have discovered unused map content and an inaccessible area, Sunbaked Peaks, suggesting a potential story expansion. The company emphasized that the number and timing of future DLCs are yet to be finalized, prioritizing user feedback and sales data.

Nintendo Switch 2 Plans

A playable baseline for the Nintendo Switch 2 version has been established, with technical reviews ongoing to optimize performance and ensure quality standards. Pearl Abyss aims for a release in the first half of next year, stating their goal is to make Crimson Desert available on as many platforms as possible.
