The official Old School Runescape X account has responded to a player’s remarkable achievement: reaching level 99 Fishing solely by catching shrimp and anchovies.

A player named Bosby undertook the challenge of maxing out his Fishing stat by exclusively catching the lowest-level fish in the game. He created an account, ‘OnlyShrimp99,’ and dedicated 4,304 hours to the project, spanning from May 11, 2024, to August 7, 2026.

Bosby utilized a Small Fishing Net, the only method to catch shrimp, and banked a total of 275,196 raw shrimp and 257,064 raw anchovies to accumulate the necessary 13,034,431 Fishing points for level 99.

“This account was a joke idea in my friend group for years before I finally made it,” Bosby shared on Reddit. “I started out thinking it would just be something funny to do, and ended up having the dedication to see it through. Across the span of this account I started a new job, got married, and made lots of friends.”

Despite the AFK nature of the endeavor, Bosby’s average experience per hour was approximately 3,000. He expressed a fondness for his now-available screen real estate but will miss the experience of catching the small fish.
