Resident evil requiem shatters sales records, becomes fastest-selling game in series history
Capcom is celebrating a major victory as Resident Evil Requiem, the latest installment in the iconic survival horror franchise, has shattered sales records and become the fastest-selling game in the series' history.

Over 6 million units sold in first two days
According to data from market research firm Circana, Resident Evil Requiem has sold over 6 million units worldwide since its launch on February 27, surpassing initial expectations and cementing its place as a major player in the gaming industry.
The game's impressive debut has not only made it the top-selling title of the month in the US, but also the best-selling game of 2026 so far, outpacing competitors like NBA 2K26 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
In the US, Resident Evil Requiem's first-week sales were a staggering 60% higher than those of its predecessor, Resident Evil 8: Village, in 2021. This success is all the more remarkable considering the game's launch coincided with President's Day weekend, traditionally a slow period for gaming sales.
As Capcom continues to ride the wave of Requiem's success, the company has confirmed that its development teams are already working on the game's first DLC, set to expand the title's content with new features and gameplay mechanics in the coming months.
