Stranger things physical release: complete series arrives on blu-ray & 4k – but at a price

Netflix’s Stranger Things is making a physical comeback, with a complete series collection hitting shelves in July. The comprehensive sets, a collaboration between Netflix and Arrow Video, will offer fans the chance to own every moment of the beloved show on both Blu-ray and 4K UHD. But be prepared to open your wallets.

The ultimate collection – a pricey pursuit

The collection comes in several editions, ranging from a Special Edition Blu-ray at $199.99 to a Deluxe 4K UHD version priced at $269.99 in the U.S., and similar pricing in the UK. Every set contains 25 discs, encompassing all 42 episodes from the show’s five seasons. The sets also boast a wealth of bonus content, including behind-the-scenes featurettes, interviews with the cast and crew, and collectible items like a Palace Arcade coin token and artcards.

Stranger Things concluded its fifth and final season earlier this year, leaving fans eager to revisit the Upside Down. The Duffer Brothers, the show’s creators, have long envisioned a way for viewers to fully own the series, not just as a collector’s item, but as a lasting legacy.

The sets will be available for purchase starting July 27th in the UK and July 28th in the U.S. The Deluxe UHD Edition includes original DTS-HD MA 5.1 surround and stereo audio for all episodes, alongside Dolby Atmos for Seasons 4 & 5. It also features reversible sleeves with artwork by Juan Ramos and Kyle Lambert, and a 148-page artbook detailing the show's creation.

While physical releases of streaming shows are uncommon, Stranger Things’ popularity clearly warranted this comprehensive collection. The price point, however, raises a question: how much are fans willing to pay to preserve their favorite show?
