Studio ellipsis unveils nightholme, a dark, terrifying pvpve game

Dark fantasy looms large in Nightholme, the latest multiplayer-focused title from Studio Ellipsis. Led by Alexandre Amancio, formercreative director of Assassin's Creed Revelations and Unity, Nightholme promises a chilling PvPvE experience set in a foreboding world overrun by nightmare creatures.

Grimrunners and grimspawn: choose your fate

Players will take on the role of Grimrunners, monster hunters with three playable classes - ranged, melee, and stealth - as they delve into a gruesome map filled with terrifying beasts. But Nightholme adds a sinister twist to the standard extraction formula. Each match begins with a purpose rather than objectives, allowing players to approach the world with intentions to slay bosses, complete faction missions, scavenge for loot, or even eliminate rival Grimrunners to steal their rewards.

As players progress, they can unlock new abilities and ultimately transform into the terrifying Grimspawn, a temporary, sanity-draining form that bolsters their combat prowess. However, this transformation is not permanent and comes at a disturbing cost to the user's mental state.

Seeds of terror: the game

Seeds of terror: the game's economic core

Nightholme's economic system revolves around Seeds of Terror, a valuable in-game reward that can be earned in each match. These Seeds serve as the game's virtual currency and are essential for progressing beyond solo or group play. Additionally, they can be used to power certain abilities and modify the Grimspawn transformation.

While no official release date has been announced for Nightholme, the game is expected to launch on PC, with a closed beta test currently underway for select players. Those interested can sign up through the Studio Ellipsis website to get a taste of the terrifying experience planned for summer 2026.
