Ackles, in a recent interview, confirmed the multi-season ambitions, stating he was hooked on the concept before the pitch was even finished. “I think the intention is to do several seasons,” he revealed.

Ackles notes the compelling dichotomy of portraying Soldier Boy, a character previously known for his anachronistic nature in the modern setting, now placed firmly in his element. “He’s the put-upon guy, the top dog, in his own time,” Ackles explained, hinting at a deeper exploration of the events that shaped Soldier Boy's later persona.
