Ubisoft unveils assassin's creed black flag resynced with $200 collector's edition

Ubisoft has officially revealed Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, a substantial remake of the 2013 pirate adventure, complete with visual and gameplay upgrades. The new title will launch on July 9, priced at $59.99 for the standard edition and $199.99 for the Collector's Edition.

The Collector's Edition boasts a large statue of protagonist Edward Kenway sitting atop a treasure chest, holding a black flag. This is the same design that inexplicably appeared on clothing retail app Vinted earlier this year. Other included items are a map, notebook, Steelbook case, and in-game extras like Edward costumes, Jackdaw customization options, and a ship's cat pet.

Ubisoft will make Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced fully official during a Worldwide Reveal Showcase this Thursday, April 23, at 9am Pacific, 12pm Eastern, and 5pm UK time. IGN will be hosting the stream, which will finally put an end to a year of non-stop leaks.

Previous reports suggested Black Flag Resynced would feature new story content fleshing out Edward Kenway's life, though modern-day gameplay sections have been excised, a change some fans aren't happy about. Regardless, the remake promises to bring the beloved game closer to last year's Assassin's Creed Shadows in terms of quality.
