Win a virtual ride in gran turismo 7 with sony's the playerbase

Sony has announced a new initiative, dubbed The Playerbase, which allows a lucky winner to appear as a playable character in Gran Turismo 7.

Enter a virtual world

By scanning their image and likeness into the game, the chosen fan will become a part of the virtual racing world, with a limited-time appearance as a character in Kazunori Yamauchi's iconic driving simulator.

The Playerbase is not a feature accessible to all Gran Turismo 7 players, but rather a one-time contest where Sony will select a winner through a series of filters.

Interested gamers can register through the official PlayStation website, answering questions about their experiences with the brand and providing additional information. A selection of finalists will then be invited to a video interview to delve deeper into their connection with PlayStation, ultimately choosing the player who will star in Gran Turismo 7.

The lucky winner will embark on a journey to Los Angeles, visiting Sony's visual effects studios to complete the scanning process and become a fully-fledged character in the game.

Special treatment in the game

As part of their virtual debut, the winning player will also receive a unique fantasy logo and a personalized car livery that will be permanently added to the game's Exhibition menu.

The grand prize winner of The Playerbase for Gran Turismo 7 will be announced in summer 2026, with plans to feature them in the game by year's end. Sony has also hinted at similar initiatives for other titles in their catalog, with two additional projects already in the pipeline.
