Dragon ball fans unite for ambitious art tribute

Unofficial Dragon Ball enthusiasts have taken inspiration from a recent Japanese project, creating an impressive 39-artists-strong tribute to the iconic manga series.

Toyotaro's return to the artist's seat

In a surprising move, Toyotaro, the artist behind the recent Dragon Ball Super, returned to drawing duties for a new manga project in Japan's official Saikyo Jump magazine. This colorful, full-page release was a departure from the publication's typical style, featuring vibrant artwork reminiscent of the classic V-Jump.

Recalling the original 1984 Dragon Ball manga, the project aimed to recreate Akira Toriyama's iconic 42 cover portraits. Each issue of Saikyo Jump featured a new artist reimagining the character designs, resulting in a colossal, fan-pleasing collaboration.
