Glen powell confirms role as fox mccloud in the super mario galaxy movie

In a surprise casting move, Top Gun: Maverick star Glen Powell has confirmed he'll be voicing Fox McCloud in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

Fox joins mario in galaxy-spanning adventure

Eagle-eyed fans spotted the Star Fox character in a poster, but it wasn't until Powell's Instagram post that the confirmation came.

McCloud, the leader of the Star Fox team, is an outlier in the Mushroom Kingdom, having only crossed paths with Mario in the Super Smash Bros. fighting game series until now.

Nintendo legend Shigeru Miyamoto previously expressed reservations about crossovers, but implied exceptions like Pikmin and, it seems, Star Fox, are possible.

Joining Powell's Fox are Brie Larson as Rosalina, Donald Glover as Yoshi, and Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr., alongside the returning cast from the first film.
