According to Variety, the long-awaited sequel has secured its main cast, with Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, and Ice Cube all in negotiations to return for the film. Their characters, as undercover cops, have previously infiltrated various schools to stop crime in the first two Movies.

Phil lord and chris miller not directing, but staying on as producers

Unlike the previous films, Phil Lord and Chris Miller will not helm 24 Jump Street as directors. However, they will remain involved as producers, working alongside new director Rodney Rothman. Rothman, known for his work on Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, co-wrote the script alongside Jonah Hill and Meghan Malloy.

Self-aware franchise returns with theoretical sequel montage joke

The title 24 Jump Street seemingly references a bit from the end of 22 Jump Street, which featured a montage of potential sequel ideas, including one set at a medical school titled 23 Jump Street. While it's unclear if this will be acknowledged in the new film, the series has always been known for its self-aware humor.
