Mcfarlane toys pulls off a rare joker victory

In a surprising move, McFarlane Toys has managed to release a figure based on Jack Nicholson's iconic Joker from the 1989 Batman film, a character notoriously difficult to license due to the actor's likeness rights. The two versions of the 7-inch tall figure, with one paying homage to the classic Kenner 1989 design, feature 22 points of articulation and an array of accessories.

Mcfarlane likely avoided naming rights issues

By not featuring Nicholson's likeness on the packaging, McFarlane may have sidestepped licensing department hurdles. The Joker figure, priced at $34.99, is set for an April 2026 release date.

This marks a rare win for McFarlane in capturing the character, as they've focused more on villains from the other Burton and Schumacher-era Movies. For fans, it's a welcome addition to their collections.
