Prime video revives isabel allende's timeless classic 'the house of the spirits' in an eight-episode series

More than three decades after its film adaptation and numerous stage productions, Isabel Allende's beloved novel 'The House of the Spirits' is poised to captivate a new generation on Prime Video. The streaming service has greenlit an eight-episode series, slated to premiere on April 29, with the first three chapters available immediately, followed by a weekly rollout until the finale on May 13.

A family epic spanning four generations

The narrative follows the Trueba family across four generations, from the early 20th century to the tumultuous 1970s in Chile. At the heart of the story are three generations of women – Clara, Blanca, and Alba – who bear witness to the evolution of Latin America, marked by both joy and tragedy.

Alfonso Herrera stars as Esteban Trueba, alongside Nicole Wallace and Dolores Fonsi as Clara del Valle at different stages of her life. The ensemble cast also includes Fernanda Castillo, Eduard Fernández, Sara Becker, Fernanda Urrejola, Rochi Hernández, Juan Pablo Raba, Pablo Macaya, and Nicolás Contreras, among others.

With executive production from Isabel Allende, Eva Longoria, and Courtney Saladino, the series promises to faithfully adapt the book's magical realism and paranormal elements. The result is a sweeping family saga that explores love, power, and the secrets that bind families together.
