The barrio of Pueblo Nuevo, specifically Calle Río Ulla, became ground zero for Hollywood's illusion-making in June 2018. But Spain's diverse geography proved irresistible. A pivotal scene depicting Grace’s arrival in the present, where she materializes on a bridge, was filmed in Murcia. And Almería’s arid terrain provided the perfect backdrop for numerous chase sequences and desolate landscapes. The initial, visually arresting arrival sequence on the beach at Rinconcillo (La Isleta del Moro, Almería) is particularly memorable, as is the fiery destruction of the dam at Aldeadávila, a location previously utilized in other film productions.
Beyond the Visuals: A Spanish Talent Pool The involvement wasn't limited to locations; Spanish actors also found themselves in the blockbuster’s orbit. Enrique Arce (best known for Money Heist), Tristán Ulloa (The Platform), and Alicia Borrachero (Hospital Central) all secured supporting roles, adding a layer of local talent to the international cast.
