Cronin's Mummy, slated for a 2026 release, deviates significantly from the beloved Brendan Fraser-led adventures, which maintaining a PG-13 rating for over two decades. Instead, this reboot plunges into the depths of horror, earning an R rating for its graphic violence, disturbing scenes, and strong language.

The film's premise centers around a journalist's family, whose daughter mysteriously vanishes eight years prior, only to mysteriously reappear in the interior of a 3,000-year-old sarcophagus with a rather cadaverous appearance.

As the family desperately tries to communicate with the young woman and unravel the enigma of her return, the reunion quickly turns into a nightmarish ordeal.
