Destiny fans retaliate with positive reviews on marathon's steam page

Following yesterday's announcement that Bungie would release the final destiny 2 content update in June, a surge of negative reviews flooded the Marathon Steam page. The backlash, largely driven by disappointed Destiny fans, accused the developer of abandoning the beloved franchise in favor of its new shooter, Marathon.

However, fans of Marathon quickly organized their own counter-campaign, leaving overwhelmingly positive reviews in support of the game. According to a graph shared by Steam, the positive reviews far outnumbered the negative, with 374 out of 531 reviews published today being in favor of Marathon.

The apparent review-bombing campaign, while anticipated given Steam's history with such tactics, highlights the deep-seated loyalty and frustration among Destiny enthusiasts. Many fans took to social media platforms, including Reddit, to voice their support for Marathon and express hope that the game's success could pave the way for a potential Destiny 3.
