Fallout 4 tester's unorthodox methods led to crashes galore
During his time as a game tester at Bethesda, Colin McInerney took an unconventional approach to identifying game flaws in Fallout 4.

Ramming the xbox one
According to McInerney, even back then, he had a knack for finding crashes where others wouldn't. In one instance, he decided to test the limits of Fallout 4's RAM on the Xbox One, bringing up a RAM readout and intentionally pushing the game to crash.
He even went so far as to give his character a billion experience points, maxing out at level 247, and equipped it with a unique nuke launcher that fired not one but ten nukes at a time.
With this overpowered build, McInerney set out to wreak havoc in the Fallout 4 world, super-nuking the entire wasteland and discovering four crashes in just one morning.
These crashes were significant enough to warrant an email alert sent to the entire Zenimax Media company, including co-founder Robert Altman.
Looking back, McInerney believes that AI could potentially do his job, but notes that its unorthodox approach would be hard to replicate. He's eager to see an AI push the limits of games the way he did.
