The update, rolling out now, arrives alongside impressive figures showing a 162% year-over-year surge in PlayStation's cloud gaming subscribers.

Users can now select a 1080p High Quality mode, offering a higher bitrate for smoother gameplay compared to the standard 1080p. This adjustment should appeal to players seeking a better visual fidelity without requiring a dedicated 4K setup.

Beyond graphics, the update introduces a refined cloud streaming interface. Selecting 'Stream' on game bundles now presents a clearer UI for choosing specific games. Game invites are also more prominent, ensuring players don't miss out on multiplayer opportunities. Trophy notifications have been enhanced, displaying trophy names and images, and platinum trophies now feature special animations.

A streamlined search function speeds up navigation, and the onboarding process for new users has been simplified with a QR code-based account creation for those without a PlayStation account. Of course, the Portal still demands a stable internet connection – at least 5Mbps for Wi-Fi, with 15Mbps recommended for optimal performance.
