PlayStation 5 owners
with the upgraded PS5 Pro are in for a visual treat. Sony has officially confirmed a significant list of games receiving enhanced performance thanks to the latest PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) update, available now.
Enhanced visuals arrive for a wide range of titles
The update, rolling out in phases starting at 10 PM Pacific time, significantly improves image quality and stability across a diverse selection of games. The list includes major blockbusters such as Cyberpunk 2077, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and Assassin's Creed Shadows, alongside titles like Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, which notably made its debut on the PS5 Pro. PSSR utilizes AI to upscale the console’s output, delivering sharper, more consistent graphics. Sony first teased this enhanced version last month with the release of Resident Evil 4, and today’s announcement expands the scope considerably. Digital Foundry has already published side-by-side comparisons showcasing the improvement in games like Silent Hill f, with the results being quite impressive.
Ninja Theory, the studio behind Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, expressed excitement about the collaboration. “We’ve been impressed by the quality of particle effects with this latest update,” stated studio head Dom Matthews. “Finding smart optimisations like this to sink players deeper into our worlds, characters and stories is core to how we make games.”
While the rollout will be gradual, the update represents a valuable enhancement for PS5 Pro owners. The visual improvements are a testament to the ongoing commitment to optimizing games for the console's capabilities, proving that the PS5 Pro isn’t just about raw power, but about delivering a refined and visually stunning gaming experience.
The quality speaks for itself.
