A curious discovery within the recently released Resident Evil 9: Requiem has revealed a potential early claim by Gabe Newell, the founder of Valve. A hidden web address, unearthed within the game's code, now redirects to a domain registered to a fan identified as 'Gabe Follower'.

The URL, NEWDAWN-capcom.com, was found embedded in the computer systems of the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance (BSAA) within the game. While seemingly a promotional tease by Capcom, the domain was registered just this week, on March 9th, securing it for a year. This raises questions about potential future plans for the site—or whether Capcom will simply let it expire.

The find was first shared on March 9th by RacconSurvivor, a dedicated fan who spotted the address using a zoomed-in view of the in-game computer screen. The timing is particularly noteworthy, as March 9th is also the date Gabe Follower registered the domain.

The significance of the name 'New Dawn' is sparking speculation among fans. The initials 'ND' appear on Leon S. Kennedy's car in the game, which also sports the license plate 'ND=9642'. This sequence corresponds to the Resident Evilgames featuring Leon Kennedy: Resident Evil 9, Resident Evil 6, Resident Evil 4, and Resident Evil 2. This connection could be purely coincidental, but the overlap is intriguing.

Capcom has yet to comment on the domain registration, leaving fans to ponder the purpose of NEWDAWN-capcom.com. Was it intended for a Resident Evil Requiem DLC? Or is this a nod to the franchise’s history? The ambiguity adds another layer of intrigue to the already complex narrative.
