Steam store revamp aims for clarity and discovery
Steam has rolled out a major refresh of its digital storefront, aiming to make it easier for users to discover new games. The new look, available now for beta testers, introduces higher resolution game art, a wider design for high resolution monitors, and improved hover states.

Key changes
Featured and Recommended sections now provide more detailed information on why games are being suggested, along with user review roundups. Game micro-trailers will play on hover, and a sneak peek of adjacent games has been added to carousels.
Discounts and Events now feature larger game artwork, and a new Discovery Queue allows quicker browsing of titles without leaving the page. The Wishlist and DLC sections have been added, highlighting discounted games from users' libraries.
While some testers praised the new design, others felt it resembled a mobile store too closely and lacked the visual cohesiveness of the old version. Valve hopes the changes will strike a balance between providing more consistent UI elements and allowing unique section designs to shine through.
