Dunst joins minecraft sequel, alex reborn

Kirsten Dunst is reviving her role as Alex in Minecraft 2, the sequel to the 2025 video game adaptation.

Minecraft 2: the crafting continues

After expressing interest last year, the Spider-Man and Civil War star has officially signed on with Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures to reprise her character in the highly anticipated follow-up.

Plot details remain under wraps as Minecraft 2 builds toward a July 23, 2027 release date, but fans can expect more of the blocky pandemonium that brought in over $960 million globally for the first installment.

Director Jared Hess returns alongside screenwriter Chris Galletta, while Jack Black is set to once again voice Steve, joined by a returning cast including Jason Momoa, Danielle Brooks, Matt Berry, and Jennifer Coolidge.
