D'artagnan's remains believed found after 344 years

The legendary musketeer Charles de Batz de Castelmore, aka D'Artagnan, may have finally been laid to rest after a centuries-long mystery. Archaeologists unearthed a skeleton beneath a Dutch church floor, which experts deem 99% likely to be the remains of the close aide to French King Louis XIV.

Deacon Jos Valke, who helped excavate the site, is convinced they've found their man. Valke discovered the skeleton, along with a 1660 coin from the bishop who attended Mass for the Sun King, buried beneath where an altar once stood.

Archaeologist Wim Dijkman, who has researched D'Artagnan's grave for 28 years, is awaiting DNA test results to confirm the identity, but Valke is more confident, stating,
