2K overhauls wwe 2k26's ringside pass amid community backlash

2K Games has made a major departure from its originally announced battle pass system for WWE 2K26, reversing course in the face of widespread community criticism.

In a significant change, all four characters in the Premium track of the Ringside Pass will now be unlocked immediately in Tier 1, rather than requiring dozens of hours of gameplay to earn as initially planned. Furthermore, the amount of XP needed to progress through each tier has been reduced from 800 to 625, and 2K assures this capped level will not increase again.

As a token of goodwill, players who logged in before April 14 will receive 20 tiers worth of free XP, helping them quickly unlock the four AAA wrestlers set for Season 1: El Hijo Del Vikingo, Flammer, Mr. Iguana, and Psycho Clown.

These alterations come just weeks before WWE's biggest event, Wrestlemania, which 2K26's Season 2 is timed to coincide with. This means fans can now more easily access the next four superstars joining the game's roster through the Ringside Pass: Ax, Smash, Crush, and Kelly Kelly.

Seasons 3 through 6 will subsequently add the following wrestlers: Matt Cardona, Torrie Wilson, Brian Pillman, and La Parka in June; Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, Jelly Roll, and Lady Shani in July; Danhausen, Bam Bam Bigelow, Brie Bella, and Pagano in September; and Earthquake, Typhoon, Royce Keys, and Octagon Jr. in October.
